Gaming changed in the 2010s when steam came and you no longer needed to go to a store to purchase the physical copy of a game. The developer could solve any bug in the game even after purchase by pushing updates.
But is this enough? We came from a physical to an online marketplace model. Now what? Are we supposed to stop? Is this how it will continue to be forever?
I don't think so, That's why I am making a platform where you don't have to purchase individual games but you will be able to play all the games on the platform under one subscription.
Okay yeah I know that this is not new. Ubisoft tried to do this, Xbox is doing this. But this is not something that we are going to repeat... We have some other plans!
I strongly believe that when we shifted from offline to online games marketplace model a lot of changes were made from the creation of games to distribution of games something of that scale has to happen again. A change has to be made in the direction where games are made to build a platform that outsells the marketplace model... And we have a plan!
That is why we want to create games that are not the way they are now... Let me explain.... Right now we have standalone games where you download the game and play it like for a week or so and complete the storyline. If they release DLCs then you download those and play those. And then what? You wait for the next part to release which will be like 2-3 years from that time.
We want players to get more out of it. . . I think that to do something like this we need to change this fundamental standalone game model. That's why we're going to focus mainly on Game Series' which will be a game divided into series of episodes. each about 40-50 minutes of playtime. This will force the developers to make longer, more hooking and captivating storylines with rich lore, character and plot.
To achieve something like this the biggest issue will be scaling. This business is an innovation led and capital intensive business. To achieve scale we'll need innovation along with so much capital that we can scale faster than any other competitor.
More importantly we'll also face some troubles in getting studios to make games specifically for our platform in the series manner. However if we consider all this and don't even start we won't be able to get anywhere and that's why we have started anyway. We'll figure it out on our way.
OVER N OUT,
