Life's summary
till now...
I am Harsh Solanki, I was born on 28 march 2007 in India. I was born into a family with main profession being farming. I lived in a village for first 3 years of my life but then my parents took a decision. They thought that I wouldn't get proper education in that village. They wanted me to have better education and they wanted me to not be a part of that village. My dad sold the land he had (it was his only property) and they both took me to Ahmedabad. It is a nice city, My mother lived here her whole life. Then came my first day of school, It was in 2010.
I first got access to internet in 2012 . The first time I got access to internet I just downloaded every single game that looked good and what can you really expect from a 5 year old. But soon I started to browse internet. I loved reading blogs and stuff about games. I mostly read about PC games because I had no PC and I really wanted to play PC games.
After few years my dad started a company with his brother in 2014. It was a washing powder factory. My dad needed a laptop for his work in the office so he bought one. In just one year the company shut down its operations because of a fight between my dad and his brother. They split up and the business died. But I was really happy because dad got the laptop home. I used that thing like at least 6-7 hours a day. I used to play games which were compatible with low end computers. One day I just had this urge to understand how games are made. I wanted to make games myself. I was maybe 9 years old and the fact that those programming tutorials were really hard to understand and so I just quit. I thought that when I'll grow up and understand this stuff then I will make games.
My father had no other option but to go back to farming. He had a land so he again started farming. With no income and heavy loses due to bad harvest or vegetable prices we were facing financial problems. I lived with my mom in the city because of my school and on Friday night we used to go to our farmhouse to meet dad. He used to live alone on the farm. This was when I was 10 years old in 2017. That year was tight, My dad had sown onion on the farm. The prices were really low at the time of harvest. We faced a huge loss, But the loss could have been less if we didn't sell it to the dealer and straight up sold it to consumers. So we did, I sat down on the roadside and sold onions, The next day my dad and I got few bags filled with onions loaded into the car. We went to the nearby villages and sold it there. Those were some freaking amazing memories.
Now don't think that I was poor or anything because the land on which the onion was grown was owned by my dad and the land was worth a lot. Anyways these loses again and again led my dad to sell the land. Then their was a fight between my dad and his brother. Everything resulted into court cases and stuff. Time had passed to 2020. It was the year when we hit the lockdown.
In the lockdown I decided to learn programming at the age of 13. I taught myself to make web pages first using basic HTML, CSS and JS after a few months I started learning backend where I was learning node as I remember. But soon I realized that it was not something I wanted to do. I wanted to learn game development but for that I needed a better gaming computer not an old laptop which was running on a pentium. Financials were tight but my dad still spent a lot to get me something I asked for my studies and just after getting it I mostly was distracted by playing games. I played like 12 hours a day. Game development? Yeah I sort of just wasn't motivated enough. But I then took steps to learn game development. I was soon distracted by ethical hacking. I spent time learning mostly basics of everything I liked. Never mastered anything.
Just like that school was over. I got into college for my diploma in computer science (India's equivalent for Associate's degree). I became friend of really cool guy, His name's Lakshya Panchal. We participated in hackathons, we spent a lot of time building projects together. And one day I got this amazing idea and we decided that this was it. We decided that we're gonna do this. He became my co-founder and we started VZEYA...
